• Spirit Wear

  • Sale is open now through September 8, 2024. The link and QR code were sent in the August Timberwolf Tales.

• Fall Carnival 

  • Friday, Sept. 20, from 6 pm-8:30 pm.

    • Presale will run from Sept. 9 - Sept. 18. Info will be sent home with the kids.

    • We will have bounce houses, food trucks, a hayride, a silent auction, and games indoors for the kids.

    • Please be on the lookout for emails regarding donations and volunteer opportunities. 

      • All volunteers should plan on attending the next meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 5:30 pm.

    • For Spring conferences, we should do a sign-up genius where parents can sign up to bring in pre-packaged food items for dinners. The teachers enjoyed the 2 liters of soda as they have an ice machine available!
  • Teacher Stipend
    • We will move forward with the $200 teacher stipend budgeted for the year.
  • 5th Grade Trip
    • Dana shared that the 5th-grade trip this year will be to Camp Tecumseh. It is $50 per student, down from $75 for last year’s Dunes trip. Unfortunately, the Dunes cannot accommodate the number of students in this year’s 5th-grade class.
    • The PTO may be asked to cover any student who is unable to afford the cost.

• Dining Nights
  • Steph is going to reach out to McDonald’s and Freddy’s to see about Dining Nights. We have only been making about $50-$80 so we think we need to switch up some of the offerings.
    • We also need to make sure we are sending home paper flyers as well as email reminders within a week and on the day of.
• Kroger Community Rewards
  • We are going to set up an account with Kroger where shoppers can link their Kroger Plus accounts to our organization.
  • We will send out a flyer when this is ready!
• Movie Night
  • Friday, Jan. 24
    • We are tentatively planning on showing Inside Out (K-2) and Inside Out 2 (3-5).
    • The cost will be $5 per student or $10 for 2 or more students (same family).
    • We have leftover candy, chips, and drinks from the carnival to stock movie concessions.
      • We will reach out to the National Honor Society for concession volunteers.
    • We will send out a sign-up genius to parents with a volunteer opportunity.
    • We also discussed having a car rider placard sent home for movie night like we do for intramurals.

    • Orders are due by November 22.
    • Gift cards will arrive at the school for distribution by December 19.
  • After the holiday sale, we need to let everyone know that gift card sales are ongoing and that there is an app you can purchase from.

  • We would like to schedule these drinks on one Thursday each month as a play on Thirsty Thursday.

  • Having all meetings and events scheduled for the full year should generate more participation as things can be written down on the schedule well in advance.
  • We will add a disclaimer that dates are subject to change as well.

      • Robyn suggested that we select a few movie titles and have the teachers poll the students to choose.

  • We have a tentative schedule for next year's meetings and events. Courtney is representing the PTO at Kindergarten Roundup on Wednesday, March 12. She is going to invite incoming parents to the next meeting in April so they can become acquainted with what we do.

  • American Family Insurance with Ashlie Adsit is sponsoring on April 16.
  • PTO will sponsor in May for Teacher Appreciation Week on May 7.
  • We are looking for sponsors to cover Igloo drinks for the teachers and staff once a month for next school year! Please let us know if you know of someone or if you are interested in sponsoring! The sponsorship typically costs between $200 and $250 and is tax deductible.
• Parent & Teacher Engagement
  • We have a tentative schedule for next year's meetings and events.
  • We discussed recruiting parents by creating PTO committees. We are going to create a signup form and a little bit about what each committee entails, to be accessed via a QR code/link. We will put it in the next Timberwolf Tales, at the tables during Donuts with Grown Ups, as well as on the Facebook page and website.

Introduction

Welcome to the final meeting of the school year. We don’t have a lot on the agenda, but we do need to discuss the budget and next year’s fundraising efforts.

Fundraising

  • We will open a Spirit Wear sale on August 9 to run through August 30.

• Fall Carnival 

  • We have decided to move next year’s carnival to the fall!

    • Sept. 20, from 5:30-8 pm.

    • We will have bounce houses, food trucks, a hayride, a silent auction, and games indoors for the kids.

    • If you have any ideas or would like to donate your time, expertise, or sponsorship, please email the PTO!

• Dining Nights

  • We are looking to schedule a dining night for each month of the school year.

  • We are looking to piggyback them with other events to alleviate dinner stress on parents.

  • We also discussed how to better promote dining night.

    • We are looking to get a sign to post on the day-of for the car rider line.

    • We also discussed getting TSC push notifications rather than just the email bulletins.
