The Tippecanoe School Corporation is pleased to announce it has hired Courtlon Peters as the new assistant principal of Wea Ridge Elementary School. He replaces Jeff Toll who has accepted the position as principal of Boswell Elementary School in the Benton Community School Corporation.
Peters comes to the TSC after three years as Dean of Students at Anderson Elementary School. He taught for several years in Greater Clark County Schools and holds a master’s degree from the University of Indianapolis and a bachelor’s degree from Anderson University.
“Courtlon rose to the top of a very strong candidate pool because of his experience at the elementary level, along with his passion and energy for education,” says Wea Ridge Elementary School Principal Michael Gabauer.
As an assistant principal, Peters will be responsible for the school’s positive behavior program, special education, support staff and other duties at the school of almost 625 students and 60 staff members.
The value the school places on building up the whole child impressed Peters. “They are not only focused on helping students achieve excellence in academics, but excellence in character, and emotional strength,” says Peters. “All of these are essential for today's students to become successful leaders tomorrow.”
