Academics

At Wea Ridge Elementary School, teachers use the Indiana Academic Standards as a guide for instruction. A typical day is broken up between a reading block, mathematics, writing, science, and social studies instruction, as well as recess, lunch, and a daily 30 minute special (art, music, physical education, technology and library).  Wea Ridge has also adopted the Social Emotional Learning Curriculum called Second Step. Students participate in one 45 minutes lesson weekly. Each grade level completes STEM activities each quarter. Our K-1 grades are provided with iPads for classroom use and our 2nd-5th grade students all have Chromebooks that stay at school.

Wea Ridge Elementary School works very hard to provide an experience for our students that is both engaging, brain aligned, and child-focused. Providing a quality curriculum with many hands-on and interactive learning opportunities is part of our daily academic journey.
